Terms of service

These terms apply to merchants who install Mint Forms ("the app"), made by Mint Labs ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.

The service

The app lets you build forms, show them on your store with a theme app block, collect submissions in an inbox in your Shopify admin, get notification emails, and (on Pro) accept file uploads, show fields conditionally and create or update customers. We may improve or change features; we will not remove a paid feature you rely on without notice.

Billing

Plans are billed by Shopify every 30 days in USD after the free trial. You can cancel at any time by changing plans or uninstalling the app. Charges are handled entirely by Shopify under Shopify's terms.

Your responsibilities

You decide what your forms ask. You are responsible for having a lawful reason to collect it, for telling shoppers how you use it (for example in your store's privacy policy), for choosing a retention period that suits your purpose, for the wording of any marketing consent checkbox, and for following the email marketing laws that apply when you contact the people who consent. Don't use the app to collect payment card numbers, passwords, government ID numbers or health information.

Availability and liability

We work to keep the app available and secure, but it is provided "as is". Submissions are saved before notification emails are sent, but email delivery depends on third parties and isn't guaranteed; check your inbox in the app. To the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to the fees you paid for the app in the 3 months before a claim.

Data processing addendum

When the app processes personal data of your shoppers on your behalf, you are the controller and we are the processor. We will:

• process personal data only to provide the app's features, following your instructions given through the app's settings;
• process only what your forms collect: we store submissions so you can read, export and answer them, email them to the recipients you choose, and (if you turn it on) write mapped answers to your Shopify customers;
• delete submissions and their files automatically after the retention period you set, when you delete them, and on Shopify's erasure and shop-redaction requests;
• never sell personal data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models;
• keep it confidential and limit access to authorised personnel;
• encrypt it in transit (HTTPS) and at rest (Cloudflare D1 and R2 encryption at rest);
• use Cloudflare (hosting, database, file storage and email sending) and Shopify as our only sub-processors;
• help you respond to data subject requests and notify you without undue delay of any personal data breach.

Changes

We will post changes to these terms here and update the date above. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
